End-of-term
When I was young and entered golden halls
I needed clubs and ways to fill my time;
I was by service, plays, and choir enthralled
And hopped from place to place in mood sublime.
Now sterling scholar and the college apps
Have changed my habits and I spend my acts
Exhausted, running long digital laps
On tedious and braggadocious tracks.
Despite the promise of the Senior Year
And calls for senioritis and good fun
Ambition’s been my stumbling block, I fear:
“Jack of all trades” can leave you feeling done.
Now, as I turn to face the final stretch,
I pray this last term will my soul refresh.
